Abstract In this paper, the determining methods of composite structure material and design allowable values are presented. The characterization and application of material allowable, examining and statistical analysis ways of test data are described, and the determining methods for design allowable values of static strength, fatigue strength, damage tolerance and repair are also analyzed. The research results can be used for design and certification of aircraft composite structure, and have a high reference value on the research and development of composite structures of large civil transport aircrafts.
