Factual narrative
THE PLT REPORTED THAT THE HOME-BUILT ACFT EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF AILERON CONTROL DURING LNDG. HE CONTINUED THE LNDG, USING THE RUDDER AND THROTTLE TO CONTROL THE ACFT. THE ACFT HIT A TREE-TOP ADJACENT TO THE RWY AND CRASHED INTO A PLOWED FIELD NEXT TO THE ARPT. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, THE ACFT BEGAN BURNING AND WAS TOTALLY DESTROYED.
