Replace the Aerostar Basket/Burner/Fuel Tanks with a Cameron Balloons Ltd. (Thunder & Colt) Basket/Burner/Fuel Tanks. The Cameron Balloons Ltd. Basket/Burner/Fuel Tanks are attached in the same manner as the existing Basket/Burner/Fuel Tanks. Eligible Cameron Balloons Ltd. (Thunder & Colt) baskets (Swept + Flat Top) sizes are: 40x40, 40x48, 40x54, and 40x60. Eligible Cameron Balloons Ltd. (Thunder & Colt) burners (single or double) are: Colt Mark II, Colt Mark III, Colt Magnum Superseal, Thunder & Colt Stratus, and Thunder Balloons assembly. Eligible Cameron Balloons Ltd. (Thunder & Colt) fuel tanks are: Cameron Balloons/Thunder & Colt Models CB426, CB599, and CB959; Thunder & Colt Models V20, V30, and V40; and Worthington Model LE-43-U4.
What is an STC?
A Supplemental Type Certificate authorizes a major modification or alteration to an FAA-certificated aircraft. STCs are how operators legally install new avionics, change fuel systems, add floats, swap engines, etc. — every change beyond a minor modification needs one.
