Franklin Part Number (P/N) 17727, valve cover gasket for the engine models listed on Page 3 of this Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) is being replaced with the gasket P/N RG-17727, manufactured in accordance with Doug Price Co. Inc. Drawing Number 09, dated January 31, 1986, or later FAA approved revision. Installation and maintenance is to be performed in accordance with the instructions provided on Page 3 of this STC. NOTE: This change in type design requires no change to the engine model designation.

What is an STC?

A Supplemental Type Certificate authorizes a major modification or alteration to an FAA-certificated aircraft. STCs are how operators legally install new avionics, change fuel systems, add floats, swap engines, etc. — every change beyond a minor modification needs one.
